Hello!

Welcome to 3^rd Grade at Grandview Elementary School! Our core values from EFFORT – Empathy, Focus, Flexibility, Optimisum, and Teamwork will be a learning target throughout the whole year. We will strive to use these life skills and a Growth Mindset while mastering our academic goals. The main reading objective will be shifting the focus from decoding to comprehension and vocabulary growth. To help your child succeed engage in daily conversations with your child focusing on using new vocabulary words. Don’t forget to be reading each evening, make it a family experience and take turns reading to each other. New concepts to expect in math this year include multiplication, division, area, perimeter, and solving real world scenarios using all four operations in multi-step problems. We will continue to explore the scientific process, geography, government, and history through projects and discussions.
