Hello!

Welcome to 4th grade at Grandview Elementary. We are excited to have your student experience all 4th Grade has to offer. It is an important year for students in reading as they have acquired the ability to read and begin to apply their reading comprehension skills at a deeper level. In math, students will build on their foundational understanding of multiplication and division as they apply their knowledge to multi-step problems. They will also learn to compare fractions and decimals. Throughout the year, students will learn how to read and navigate a map as well as understand the different regions of the United States in our social studies lessons. In science will discover new learning about environments, rocks, soils, landforms, and energy. Finally, we will embed our social-emotional learning throughout the school year. In Second Step, students will practice setting goals, managing emotion, and using kindness and problem-solving skills to create meaningful peer interactions and a positive classroom culture.
