Hello!

Welcome to Grandview Elementary from your first-grade teacher! While in first grade, students will be involved in an incredible learning experience. In reading, students are gaining knowledge in both phonics and phonemic awareness.  This knowledge will help the students become fluent readers.  In math, students will gain knowledge in numbers and operations, algebraic thinking, measurement and data, and geometry while working through the i-Ready curriculum. Students will also participate in hands-on investigations to learn about sounds, light, air, weather, plants, and animals. In Social Studies, first grade will focus on civics, economics, geography, and history with our theme focusing on my school and family. We will also learn about many different social skills with our Second Step curriculum. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our Gator Family!
