Erin Bohanan

As a Kansas native, I did not go far from home to attend the University of Kansas.  After graduating, I began to work for the Lawrence Public Schools.  In my first year of teaching I married my husband, Terry.  We came to Junction City after he received an offer to work on the Junction City Fire Department.  I started at Grandview Elementary as the library clerk and Soar to Success tutor.  In my second year at Grandview, my husband and I had a son, Griffin.  When Grandview voted to adopt the Success For All program, I applied for the job of Facilitator.  As the Facilitator, I assess students, support teachers, prepare materials, analyze data, attend conferences, tutor, and share information. In addition to my job as Facilitator, I am on many committees: Professional Development, Student Improvement Team, Social, Holiday Helpers, Site Council and the Effective Schools Panel.  Recenly, I wrote a mini-grant for Raising Readers Workshops, which will offer support to parents teaching their children to read.  I have felt very welcome in both the school and community and hope to be here for years to come.
