March is National Nutrition Month

Choosing nutritious foods and getting enough physical activity can make a real difference in your health.  For this year the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics encourages people to make informed food choices and develop sound eating and activity habits.

Do something physical during the weekend, such as playing basketball with your kids or going dancing with your friends.  The goal is to get moving; every little bit helps!!!

Writing that makes sense                                                   As your child first learns to write, his stories may not always make sense to others. Help his writing flow logically with these two ideas. 1. Even if your youngster isn’t writing sentences yet, he can tell you stories.  As he describes the new class pet or something funny that happened at lunch, you can jot down his tale.  He’ll practice relating events in a logical order, and that can help when he puts his thoughts and ideas down on paper himself.  2.  Let your child read his stories to you.  Ask questions to encourage him to add information, or to clear up confusing parts.

Come one, come all to Grandview’s Family Board Game night on Thursday, March 28th from 5:15 to 6:45.  There will be board games, VR Goggles, Coding, Augmented Reality and fun for all ages.                                                             Student Council will be selling pizza, popcorn and pop and will have the cart available for student’s to purchase fun trinkets and items.  Stay tuned for more details and we hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Brooklyn Quintana for being selected most improved student for the month of January.  Brooklyn is in the 1st grade in Mrs. Habel’s class.
