This year has just flown by. They seem to go faster and faster every year. I have loved having the privilege of working wiht you and your children. I appreciate the support and time you give the school. Working cooperatively is the best way to meet the needs of our students. We plan to have more parent involvement activities next year so be on the lookout at the beginning of the year for more information and dates. I hope everyone has a great summer. If you have a Kinder coming to Grandview next year, please send them to our free Camp Kinder to get them a head start. It is lots of fun for them. The summer slide is real, but can be avoided. Please take some time to have your student read every day. And all ages love to be read to. This will help them amintain and build reading skills. Use math wherever you can. Ask fact questions in the car, use the grocery store as a math lesson, let them help you cook and gure out the amounts. Math is everywhere so pull it into your days.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Stay safe, enjoy family and friends and we will see you back here in August. Enrollment is open now. It is helpful to have people enroll early. If you need help or have questions, just call Mrs. Etheridge at 717-4470. If you will not be returning next year, please let her know as well.

I cannot believe how fast this year flew by! We have had so many wonderful memeories and have had many great learning experiences along the way. April wasa a busy month full of poetry activities and LOTS of 3D printing. We celebrated the following authors of the week: Jack Prelutsky, JK Rowling, Earth Day authors, and Beverly Cleary. Beverly Cleary had her 102nd birthday on April 12th! WOW!
Some end of the year reminders: the last day for library checkout will be May 11th. The last day to take an AR test will be May 17th. the 4th quarter AR party is May 22nd and if you made it to every party this year, the end of the year party is on May 23rd. You still have time to get some good quality reading in! Please try to locate any misplaced booksto avoid fines. Thanks for a fantastic year and have an awesome summer. Remember to keep reading and spend time outside!
Fill the summer with books
No more pencils, no more books? No way! According to research, kids may lose some of their “word smarts” if they do not keepy reading over the summer. So make a point of surrounding your child with words this summer. Too hot outside? Visit the library and suggest a few good titles to help your child pass the afternoon. What could be nicer than a cold drink and a cool book?
